The paper “Verb Classification using Distributional Similarity in Syntactic and Semantic Structures” concerns with semantic parsing the extraction of predicate argument structure: for this purpose, automatic verb classification is a necessary step. Co-written by D. Croce, A. Moschitti, R. Basili and M. Palmer, it will be published in the Conference for the Association for Computational Linguistics, (ACL). Jeju, Korea, 2012.

The paper “Modeling Topic Dependencies in Hierarchical Text Categorization” discusses about automatically learning from the structure of a text categorization hierarchy to better classify documents.This is a step towards knowledge evolution since it shows how to learn the structure and thus possibly its evolution. Co-written by A. Moschitti, J. Qi and R. Johansson, it will be published in the Conference for the Association for Computational Linguistics, (ACL). Jeju, Korea, 2012.

The paper “ImageTerrier: An extensible platform for scalable high-performance image retrieval” co-written by J.Hare, S. Samangooei, D. Dupplaw and P. Lewis wil be published in The ACM International Conference on Multimedia Retrieval (ICMR 2012), 5-8 June 2012, Hong Kong.

The Symposium on Bias and Diversity in IR at 8th European Summer School on Information Retrieval (DIV-2011)  took place in colocation of the LivingKnowledge Summer School in Koblenz, Germany, on August 29 - September 02, 2011.

The first Workshop on LAWA project on Longitudinal Analytics of Web Archive data took place at CNAM (Conservatoire des Arts et Métier) in Paris, France, on November 30, 2010
