LK technologies released

LK Partners are pleased to share some of the project outcomes.
Since the beginning of the project, LivingKnowledge partners have been collaborating on making bias, diversity and evolution tangible and digestible by a new generation of search technology.

This includes diversity-aware search in text and images, analysis of future predictions, facts and opinion extraction.

Some of the developed technologies enabling bias-aware, diversity-aware and evolution-aware information access are already available online and more will come through the last year of the project, starting with the public release of the Testbed.

Verb Classification using Distributional Similarity in Syntactic and Semantic Structures

The paper “Verb Classification using Distributional Similarity in Syntactic and Semantic Structures” concerns with semantic parsing the extraction of predicate argument structure: for this purpose, automatic verb classification is a necessary step. Co-written by D. Croce, A. Moschitti, R. Basili and M. Palmer, it will be published in the Conference for the Association for Computational Linguistics, (ACL). Jeju, Korea, 2012.

The paper “Modeling Topic Dependencies in Hierarchical Text Categorization” discusses about automatically learning from the structure of a text categorization hierarchy to better classify documents. This is a step towards knowledge evolution since it shows how to learn the structure and thus possibly its evolution. Co-written by A. Moschitti, J. Qi and R. Johansson, it will be published in the Conference for the Association for Computational Linguistics, (ACL). Jeju, Korea, 2012.
